Meet Taylor

News anchor, reporter, and talk show host.

No matter how hard life gets, keep looking further beyond the situation and push through the storm.

Taylor Woods

Taylor Woods is an award-winning journalist, who is passionate about community and advocacy. She enjoys bringing people and their untold stories to the forefront.

Taylor is a graduate student at Northwestern Medill School of Journalism where she anchors and reports for Medill Reports. She’s also a host for CAN TV where she conducts interviews with Chicagoans about topics impacting the community.

Previously, Taylor worked as the news director of WICR-FM during her senior year at the University of Indianapolis. There, she anchored live newscasts at 5pm and 6pm weekly. Taylor assigned anchors and reporters with beats to cover.

She even reported feature stories from time to time with community organizations like the Arts Council of Indianapolis. In November of 2020, Taylor led WICR's  local election election coverage during a pandemic. She balanced her time as news director while working part-time at WISH-TV.

Taylor credits her internship at WISH-TV for molding her into a multimedia journalist. Her internship began in the summer of 2020 where she learned how to cover a wide-range of stories. She took advantage of every opportunity to learn and grow. That's when she was offered a part-time position to write content for the web and evening newscasts. She even conducted interviews that aired during the night show.
